My house will be called a "House of Prayer"

Prayer for June 18, 2019

Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you" - Matthew 5:43-44
Lord, we cannot understand with our human mind how You could forgive those who mistreated and persecuted You, when we cannot even get over the things that others have said or done that hurt our feelings and unknowingly, our pride. Those are petty things compared to the sufferings and torture you received from your persecutors yet we react as if we have been dealt with such unfairness and grave injustice. Help us to be kinder, gentler, more humble, more loving and more forgiving. May we bless those who have caused us pain and pray for ourselves to learn to truly forgive and forget and completely move on. Life is too short to dwell on past hurts and it is better to love than to hate. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
