Made for Mission
Everyone who comes to Christ Jesus with faith and repentant heart is born again by the Holy Spirit and made a new creature in Christ. We become His and, glory of glories, He becomes ours. As His people we are made new creation for His mission: to spread the Good News to others so that they also may know Him and enjoy sweet fellowship with Him and with fellow believers. His mission is our mission. If not us, who? If not now, when?
During this time of social distancing, we can still reach out by telephone, letters, emails, and social media. Let's do it! We are made for mission! Alleluia!
Like young Samuel we must listen for the voice of the Lord with the intent to hear and obey. As we do, we will more and more clearly hear Him speak and to recognize His voice. Thus we will be more able to trust and follow what He tells us. In the Gospel (John 1:35-42), John points out Jesus, Look, here is the Lamb of God!Two disciples hear the call and follow Jesus Who asks them, What are you looking for?

Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar - Baptism of the Holy Spirit - A Study Journal
Acts chapters 10 and 11 tell how God called Peter to preach salvation to the gentile Cornelius and his household. He was sent in spite of his inclination to think that salvation was only for the Jews. The vision made it clear that he was to go without hesitation: "What God has made clean, you must not call profane." As he preached Jesus to them, the Holy Spirit came down upon them and they began to speak in tongues and glorify God: "just as He had upon us at the beginning."This baptism with the Holy Spirit was a clear sign of God's acceptance of them and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in them, a sign that they truly believed in Jesus and had repented of their sins. Accordingly, Peter ordered them to be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ. This baptism with the Holy Spirit is meant for every believer in Jesus. It is absolutely necessary for our faith to come alive, to become contagious and effective. We are not meant to be powerless, fearful Christians, rather, we are meant to have the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit at work in us and through us as He was through the apostles and those who accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah, Saviour, and Lord.

Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar - Growing in the Spirit - A Study Journal
The "Come to Me" of Jesus is a wonderful invitation, not a command. It isn't an invitation to a one-time party or event. It is an invitation to an intimate, enduring relationship with Him, a relationship that will keep growing as we live it, a relationship that will have no end. Come!It is a "come as you are" invitation; come with your struggles, past hurts, sense of unworthiness, and patterns of sin, but come! Come to Jesus, experience His love, healing, forgiveness, rest, peace, and His great delight in you. Come and delight yourself in Him as He delights in you.
I am grateful to God for many things, but one of most favorite reasons is that He is in the recycling business. I love that He takes everything that is damaging and ugly in our lives and changes it into something beautiful and useful. Nothing, no experience, good or bad, is wasted and I take comfort in that.
So many times, when we are in the midst of pain due to the many disappointments and heartaches of life it is easy to become convinced that God doesn't see or care about us, but I am here to tell you that He does. He sees it all. Nothing goes unnoticed by Him. In fact, every tear we cry is precious to Him. So much so that He bottles each and every one (Psalm 56:8).

Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar - God's Love - A Study Journal
God, in His love for David, gave him His favour and the favour of the people; God's love gave David kingship over Israel. Love gave David a grateful heart that acknowledged God's blessings, that it was God's blessing that brought successes that he and the people of Israel enjoyed. God's love rewarded David's love and loyalty with promises of even more. Love is a giver.
Receive the blessings God's love gives to you. Give Him your love and willing obedience and reap His favour. Give to others the gifts of the Spirit that He bestows upon you. Freely you have received; freely give as Jesus said. Love is a Giver.
